School Statistics
| The school began with a single entry group and grew by the
simple addition of extra year groups for the first five years. It
increased in size during the war years partly because of the arrival of 30
boys from Haberdashers Aske's School, Hampstead and 20 from other London
Schools. Subsequently boys from West Ham Grammar School and Tottenham
Technical School arrived. In 1947 the school became 3 form entry. Subsequent increase came as more boys stayed on into the Sixth form |

The rise in number of forms after 1947 was due to the
decision to split the year group into three streams in response to increased
class size. The reason for the rise in number of masters after 1955 is
unknown. Two possible reasons are lower teacher:pupil ratios and boys
staying on at school longer.
