London Gazette: 27 June, 1944 (General Citation):

 

''This N.C.O. has completed 28 successful bombing sorties as a Navigator of a Lancaster. These sorties have all been against major targets in Germany - seven of them over Berlin. He has proved himself to be an exceptional Navigator who has always taken his aircraft to the target and back with great accuracy, often in the face of heavy enemy opposition.''

 

Flight Sergeant Victor Fulton Pitcher, D.F.M., also completed sorties to Cologne, Hamburg (2), Remscheid, Nurnberg (2), Munich, Hanover, Kassel, Stuttgart (4), Magdeburg, Leipzig, Schweinfurt, Augsburg, Frankfurt (2) and Essen.
