Hi Pedro I would dearly love to be at the reunion as I have always had fond memories of my time at WGS, to me it was a retreat from less than desirable foster-parents. My greatest friend at the time was Jim Tompkins, which reminds me I haven’t heard from him lately. I was never good at remembering names, but I do remember “Flash’ Munday, Arthur Groome, Nat Tompkins and a few others whose

names seem more than familiar when I come across them in the panoramas. I had been a year at Leek High School before the Children’s Home in Staffordshire was transferred to Hatton Hall between VE day and VJ day. I remember too my complete horror at learning that hockey was not played a WGS, it was cross-country running instead, which in the end I thoroughly enjoyed. I remember a few years ago, more than a few actually I asked the school for a for my scholastic references and the reply correctly listed them but added a pass in Spanish which I had never studied, so for all those who have trouble with foreign languages, just wait and one day you will be rewarded with the ability to know a foreign tongue. Perhaps in your capacity as MC you could mention that this expatriate once known as “Willy” Webster would like to be remembered to everyone of my time. I will be thinking of you all on the day. To you Pedro grateful thanks for being so caring despite a lack of reciprocation, please keep in touch and I will keep you informed as best as I can. Take care and my best Regards. Dennis Webster
