CHURCH HISTORY Knowle URC
|
| In 1972 the Congregational and Presbyterian Churches formed the present United Reformed Church. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2007 The induction of the Rev. Kevin Jones was significant in the development of the church. Visitors to the church tended to keep coming and subsequently became members. When St.Ninians in Solihull closed (Jan 2008) there were four relatively close URC churches (Hobs Moat, Christchurch, Olton and Knowle). The Elders at St Ninians organised visits to each of them in their last Newsletter and urged members to attend en masse. This led to a major boost in the congregation at Knowle with 14 regular atttenders; whilst Knowle obviously gained because several members lived in the village, it clearly was not for the majority. The reason given for many of the newcomers was that Knowle was so welcoming and friendly. See February 2008 magazine. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
