| Non-conformity was active in Knowle as early as the late 17th Century. In 1749 John Wesley found the Red Lion “a furious turbulent place from the start but the crowds increased and were tolerably attentive". | ||||

The first non-conformist Chapel was opened in the High Street in 1835.The building is now used by the Knowle Indian Brasserie. | |||
| The Station Road building was erected in 1932, and the Church Hall was built twenty years later. In 1972 the Congregational and Presbyterian Churches formed the present United Reformed Church. The building is attractive; do come and have a look inside. | ||||
