Fellowship and Fun

Rotary is based on service above self, but that service is based on good working relationships with other Rotarians, so that we enjoy our service to others.

Rotary has a full programme of social activities. Kenilworth Rotary meets weekly on Mondays at 6.30 for 7.00, for a dinner at the Ramada Hotel, where we are well looked after by the management. The cost, including a fund-raising flutter, is ... very reasonable. Come and find out!

The weekly meeting has a regular spot of a quarter of an hour or so for a visiting speaker with a tale to tell. We encourage people with special knowledge to inform us about important activities, be it the drive to reduce colon cancer, the effect of an OFSTED inspection on a local school, the operation of the local coroner's office, the working of an international charity, or a local engineer explaining how he designed the first car to break the sound barrier. In these days when conversation is swamped by the media, it can be a true pleasure to share ideas with a diverse group of people having different interests. In addition there are fellowship visits to other clubs, and the District Quiz, which pits clubs against one another on a range of trivia. Kenilworth Club is quite good at this, but too lacking in the trivia department to get very far.

There is a varied programme of social events, including visits to other club events, such as Burn's Night, Beaujolais evening, Race Evening, etc etc etc.

For a taste of what we do, visit our archive, which includes current events as well as those from previous years.
