Frank and Sarah’s son. Frank served in the army during WWII. The only known information of where he served comes from the story told to me by Tom's son Terry:
When a mate serving with him in the desert asked Frank who he thought would win a distance race, Frank told him to put a couple of quid on his brother. Being cautious the man only bet about ten shillings and was mortified to subsequently see Tom winning the race in style.
Frank represented the miners on the NUM (National Union of Miners) and on the labour parties NEC (National Executive Committee). In one of his brother’s eyes Frank, who lived at Dunscroft, was a communist.

Largely, because of distance, the three younger members of the family did not see each other regularly when their own families were young. Louie and her elder brother Tom, for example, saw each other at most once a year. Tom, in 1991, had not seen his elder brother, Charles, since about 1944. Bob lived for several years in Spain. However, Bob, Louie and their families attended Stephenie’s wedding. After they had retired and Tom’s second wife had died, Tom moved back to Blackpool where his brother Bob lived and from where he could easily travel east, by public transport and visit Louie.
